New Hyde Park, NY and Dominican Republic (June 2010) - New York based Associated Global Systems (AGS), a full service transportation and logistics provider along with Dominican Republic based partner Maritima Dominicana have been awarded exclusive long-term contract to provide all shipping and logistical services for a Dominican Republic based goldmine operated by Barrick Gold Corporation, a Canadian-based mineral mining company.
Barrick Gold Corporation, operator of Pueblo Viejo Goldmine, is one of the world’s largest mining companies. AGS and Maritima will provide all logistics and shipping services to and from the Pueblo Viejo Goldmine, handling the transportation of heavy duty mining equipment, drill rigs, boats and mined product to and from the United States. Pueblo Viejo is located approximately 100 kilometers northwest of the capital city of Santo Domingo.
In addition, AGS and Maritima has implemented a complete purchase order management system covering both English
