Associated Global Systems “Going Green”
As A Smart Way Partner
New Hyde Park, NY (May 2008) - AGS, one of the leading U.S. based transportation and logistics providers, is pleased to announce its membership into the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Smart Way Transport Partnership Program.
As part of the AGS future business plan, the company is reaching out to all of its ground service providers to become more active in the Supply Chain process of going “Green”. “As the rising energy cost continues to put a strain on all of our businesses, the need to be more energy efficient is essential.” states Mike Hess, Vice President of Strategic Planning. “With oil prices over $120.00 per barrel, increasing efficiency means using less fuel, fewer emissions and better environment.”
AGS has agreed to work closely with the EPA to help educate our ground service providers through awareness programs, and to encourage their participation and membership in the Smart Way Transport Partnership. The Smart Way program is a voluntary partnership program between USEPA and the freight industry designed to implement innovative approaches to reducing the energy and environmental impact of freight transport. AGS is pleased to be a member of the Smart Way Transport Partnership program and will continue to help the industry become more environmentally responsible.
