AGS Helps Keep Major Telecom’s
Growth Plans On Track
The Problem:
A major telecommunications company had the task of installing over 10,000 antennas, cabinets, and radios to existing cell towers in 50+ domestic markets. The company had to buy the equipment from multiple vendors throughout the U.S. and Canada; transport it to the market locations “just-in-time” and arrange short term warehousing and consolidation points in all 50+ markets; and finally keep an inventory of each piece of gear. In addition, this all had to be accomplished in a timely manner since getting the network up and running was the company’s key to gaining new customers.
The Solution:
AGS, with its network of locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, was able to provide an in-house Customer Service Response team to handle all purchase orders from those vendors that could provide the most cost-effective transportation method to the various markets and also meet the just-in-time requirements. In addition, AGS set up short-term warehousing and distribution centers in each market to provide consolidation of vendor product, and complete inventory and quality control. Finally, AGS created a custom website for 24/7 access to real time inventory, product in transit, and complete delivery information. AGS not only provided the solution, but had it up and running in less than a week. This assured that the telecom’s new network construction would not be delayed--nor its growth potential.
