AGS Improves Recovery and Returns for Global Electronics Manufacturer
AGS handles a variety of customer projects for this manufacturer from various cities, including the national distribution of their high-end computer towers and blade servers from their manufacturing facilities.
The Problem:
In November 2004, the customer asked AGS for urgent help to rescue a recovery and return program at over 1,600 locations in the Northeast. Their present forwarder had failed to make return pickups on time and wasn’t providing the daily management reports the manufacturer needed.
The Solution:
Within 24 hours of the request, AGS arranged pick-ups of return equipment that had been sitting for days at over 80 locations; AGS then sorted the equipment and delivered it to the account’s recycle and redeployment vendors in four cities across the U.S.
Within two weeks, the manufacturer had selected AGS to handle its entire return program. In fact, the customer was so pleased with our performance that they selected AGS to replace their present carrier. AGS assigned four dedicated expeditors at its DFW station to coordinate future deployments and returns.
The Result:
The program continues in 2007 in Texas, Oregon and Washington. A key factor in our success with this program has been managing time of day specific deliveries and pickups; daily management information reporting through myAGS.com; and service flexibility that satisfies changing customer requirements.
